Córdoba receives 98,692 tourists in April

CBN.Almost 100,000 tourists, both Spanish and international, visited Córdoba this April according to the data retreived by the Hospitality Booking Poll (EOH) of the National Institute of Statistics (INE). This statistic has brought Córdoba to the forefront of hotel occupancy in April, trailing only behind Benidorm, Seville, and Adeje (Tenerife).

The exact number of tourists has been 98,692 and the volume of overnight stays has risen to 149,958. This accounts for a 24% growth in tourists compared with April of 2013, making it the highest figure in the last ten years. The April Holy Week celebration has pushed the numbers past historical records.

In the first quarter of 2014, the total number of tourists that have arrived to Córdoba grew to 274,566 accounting for 419,542 nightstays in hotels.

With respect to the Autonomous Community, Andalusia has been one of the main destinations for travelers who reside in Spain in the month of April, with annual variation rates in the number of overnight stays of 21.0% Again the April Holy Week, the good weather and the opening of beaches and “chiringuitos” have made Andalusia one of the preferred destinations for tourists this past month.
